Rising Demand for Speed & Access to Data
Necessary data exchange to meet business goals often exceeds 1 petabyte (1000 terabytes) a day and networks often need to operate 24/7, 365 days a year. If yours does not, there are likely users out there that want it to, and eventually will need it to. Unicom has a solution.

Physical Security
Unicom Security—Concept to Completion
Unicom will design, deliver, install and maintain your security system. We provide turnkey physical security solutions, including the following:
- Perimeter intrusion and surveillance
- Closed circuit television (CCTV)
Any Size Facility
No matter how small or large your facility, Unicom can install the technology “locks” and leave you with only having to turn the key. Small facilities now need security that previously only the largest required.
Fortunately, technology capabilities have advanced and costs have dropped to make advanced security systems possible and cost-effective on a smaller scale. We take pride in providing solutions that meet your business challenges and goals—and cost-effectively utilize advanced security technologies.
Unicom Risk Assessment
Unicom will work with you to assess your security vulnerability and design a solution to fit your particular requirements. We bring expertise in standards, best practices, and how technology can interface with staff to optimize results, safety, and cost-effectiveness. See examples below.
Physical Security Examples
Unicom specializes in designing total security systems that integrate the major technologies available today. Some examples:
- Perimeter intrusion and surveillance can make use of fence-mounted fiber optic intrusion detection systems, infrared motion sensors, microwave sensors and CCTV cameras.
- Access control, to control and report on the movement of personnel and vehicles entering or within a facility, can be as simple as card and key pads or as complex as an integrated computer-driven system.
- CCTV systems can monitor and record movement, biometric systems can identify those requesting access and vehicle camera systems can scan the underside of vehicles entering at a vehicle entry point as well as identify both vehicle and driver. The information gathered links to a database for verification.
- CCTV systems with indoor or outdoor cameras, digital video recorders and monitors, along with multiplexers and switching systems, can be IP-based and interconnected via fiber optic cables, wireless or other transmission media as part of complex campus-wide or worldwide security network.
- Unicom designs and integrates fire alarm systems comprising detection heads, fire alarm control panels’ enunciators and ancillary items into the complete security system.
- Event monitoring and alarm systems form an important part of any facility security system. Unicom will design and integrate a system for monitoring, displaying and recording signals from event monitoring devices. This type of system can interface with the total security network and central station equipment.
